Craig Rader is President of the California Association of Public Purchasing Officers. Under Mr. Rader’s leadership, CAPPO establishes strategies and best practices for optimizing performance results, cost savings, and total cost of ownership (TCO) for state and local spending in California, which at $450+ Billion dollars a year, represents the world’s 8th largest economy.

Mr. Rader is a seasoned and highly respected purchasing officer for the County of Sacramento, where he has been employed for almost 20 years. During his career at the County, Craig has held multiple procurement positions, progressing through the ranks to his current position since 2006. In addition to his public sector procurement experience, Craig also has 10 years in the private sector at several firms, including a Department of Defense subcontractor that provided the AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System) equipment to the military.

Craig Rader is a Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO) and Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB), has a degree in Purchasing and Materials Management and two Purchasing Certificates. He is an active member of several procurement associations and prior to his current presidency position, he served as Director North on the Board of CAPPO, following which he was Secretary/Treasurer.
